Completely agree - this analogy is a very good one Nad. I'm on the management side (the dark side) so I want my techies in there doing the cooking while I'm out the front taking the orders and shaping their preferences into something that I think they'll enjoy, and something I know the back room can actually deliver. Sometimes though they insist on meeting the chef and discussing new recipes which is occasionally fine! I have one customer at the moment though who wants to meet the chef every time - I just can't get him to understand that if I allow that then none of the cooking will get done. He just doesn't get it and thinks I'm being obstructive! Damn customers.

I also have one chef who constantly fails to deliver quality goods - so soon he's going to be wheeled in front of the customer so he can make his own excuses directly - I'm fed up of taking the flak for him. lol.
