Came across this fascinating article on ZDNet, they say a picture is worth a thousand words and that’s certainly true in this case. The first show’s the system calls that occur in a Linux Server running Apache

and the second image is of a windows Server running IIS:

  1. Cool find! The pictures really bring home the distinction between a clean architecture and a tightly coupled one.

  2. I find those images a bit problematic. Neither does the author refer to any kind of method that was used nor are the images zoomable in a way they would actually show names of functions being called.

Though I could well imagine that IIS is more complex in means of internal structure I find that these images in the context do not prove or show anything

  3. The pictures weren’t produced by the author, the discovery was made by Sana Security. It might be an idea to ask them for some more details?

  4. I had a look at their website. I could not locate the images and the report adhered to it.

I did not bother to contact by them about it but I found it curious nontheless.
