It reflects very well on you that you were reluctant to have recourse to your friend in security, but nobody could blame you for it in the circumstances. I got pulled over in an airport once for an extra check and found the experience quite unsettling. My husband was flying to New York a few weeks ago and was asked why he'd been to Bahrain the summer before. Anyway, you're now in the most exciting country on the planet, so enjoy!
